Gone are the days when our Bollywood babes would flaunt their long tresses to attract to seduce co-stars onscreen. Forget those long locks flying with the wind or getting wet in the rain. It's time for short cropped beauties. Bipasha Basu might have started off the trend, but look who else got a cool cut -- Priyanka Chopra, Vidya Balan, Tanushree Dutta or Mandira Bedi. Vidya for example seems to have gone under the scissors with a vengeance, getting herself a cut that makes her look sexy and much, much younger. Seems like this babe is making all the efforts to contribute to the 'damage control' process after Heyy Babyy. Bold and beautiful Priyanka Chopra went all out of her way to get into the character that she is playing in Love Story 2050 and got her hair coloured red! Sadly, it severely damaged her hair locks that required quite some trimming. So, she had to get her red tresses a short cut for a low-on maintenance and high-on-comfort hair style. Mandira Bedi's short hair has a story but worth the cut. She had been thinking about doing something to her look for a long time. She was “bored with” her look and wanted to change it, but didn't know what to do. One fine day, she was shopping at a store, where she was introduced to a stylist who also does Kareena Kapoor and Lara Dutta's hair. After meeting her, she decided to put herself in her hands and go with her vision. Well, the cut really looks cool on her. Bipasha's hair cut is the best way to reinvent oneself. Known for her bold performances and unconventional looks, Bips' thick and lustrous locks have been subjected to a lot of experiments. The actress currently sports a bob which is a rage this season. And Tanushree's latest haircut is her way of making innovation and experimentation with her image. Her short hair simply goes with her short dresses that she wears at most of the occasions. “I cut my hair short because it is convenient, easy to style and I can get ready real fast. I love the way my hair looks and feels,” she gushes. Talking on this 'short' trend the leading hair stylist Jawed Habib said in an interview with TOI: "The shorter cut the trendier it looks. If you have long hair, experiment with fringes and steps which are in fashion. For girls it is short that looks trendy." So all you gals out there, some short cuts can turn heads too! |
